UGVCL Unit Rate in City RGPU
The city house bill has RGPU tariff (category) which consists of 4 to 5 main charges and the bill is calculated on it. Details of different charges are as below.
Fixed Charge
The fixed charge is calculated based on the load. If we have a connection of up to 2 KW at our house, then the two months fixed charge will be Rs. 30 and If above 2 KW and up to 4 KW then there is a fixed charge of Rs 50 every two months. Which is given in the table below.

– In our city house mostly the connection is 2 KW and the bill comes every two months so the fixed charge is Rs 30. If the bill comes every month then the fixed charge is Rs 15. Which is shown in the photo below.
Energy Charge
Energy charges are calculated based on your used units. The bill comes to our house every two months, so the price of the unit are as per two months rate.

- For BPL consumer first 50/100 units rate is Rs 1.50 and remaining is as above.
- As per above unit price is also given on the back of your bill. Photo is given below.
- From the calculation given below you will know that the price of the unit is not fixed as if your consumption is less the price will be less and as the consumption is more the price will be more.
– For example, how to calculate the energy charge of 350 units for one month and two months is given in the photo below.
- One Month Calculation
- First 50 units x 3.05 = 152.50
- Next 50 units x 3.50 = 175
- Next 150 units x 4.15 = 622.50
- Next 100 units x 5.20 = 520
Total Energy Charge : (152.50+175+622.50+520=1470)
- Two Months Calculation
- First 100 units x 3.05 = 305
- Next 100 units x 3.50 = 350
- Next 150 units x 4.15 = 622.50
- Next 0 units x 5.20 = 0
Total Energy Charge : (305+350+622.50=1277.50)

Fuel Charge
Fuel charges are calculated on your used unit. Which changes every 3 or 4 months. Current fuel rate is Rs. 3.35 per unit. Which is written in your bill like (Fuel Chg @3.35).

Units Used x Current Fuel Rate (350 x 3.35 = 1172.50) as given in above photo.
Electricity Duty
Electricity Duty is a tax by the state government on the consumption of electricity. At present the electricity duty in the city is 15%.
– For example, let us know how the electricity duty of 350 units for two months are calculated.
Fixed Charge : 30
Energy Charge : 1277.50
Fuel Charge : 1172.50
Total of three charges as above (30+1277.50+1172.50= 2480)
